COMIC BOOK REVIEW: Wonder Woman # 12

Comic book review for Wonder Woman # 12 by Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang.

This issue is a non-stop action that moves the story further and sets up future things for the Amazonian princess. There are a lot of great moments in this issue that kinda gives the idea that Azzarello has a lot more up his sleeves as we end Diana’s first year.

There’s a fight between Artemis and Diana that shows just how powerful Wonder Woman. It’s actually worth noting that it follows a traditional trope that has always been seen in anime series like Dragonball or even Ghost Fighters. [For more on that check out these Wonder Woman # 12 spoilers]

I loved this issue because of the added depth to other characters like Zola and even Strife. Most importantly there’s an important supporting character in Wonder Woman’s posse that shows his/her true allegiance. That betrayal alone makes it a really good buy. I’m actually glad that I picked it up again.

Also if you’re a big fan of Jack Kirby’s works you’ll be glad to know that the next issue will feature the return of some familiar faces who were recently killed off in an important Grant Morrison book. Too bad though that we’ll have to wait a full month due to the #0 issues coming out this month.

The art and the writing is pretty solid so I’m giving this 10/10.
