ISTORYAHAN: A Comics + Music + Poetry + Film Night

This July 6, 2016, come and celebrate UP Graphic Arts in Literature (UP GRAIL)‘s anniversary by helping out the UP Diliman Faculty Center. The event will be held at Blue Rocket Cafe + Kitchen, in Tomas Morato, Quezon City starting 8 PM.

Istoryahan: A Comics + Music + Poetry + Film Night is a storytelling convention featuring the works of local komikeros, music from homegrown bands, and poetry from spoken word collectives. Among the activity of event are: Comics Reading – Rob Cham, Joanne Cesario and Michelle Bacabac; Music – Hannah Palima; Short Films – Oda Sa Mga Mangangarap by JM Jamisola, Uwian Na by Joanne Cesario; Poetry - Trisha O’ Bannon, Van Sulitas.

The UP GRAIL is a comic book and literature student organization based in the College of Arts and Letters of the University of the Philippines Diliman. They are an organization of artists, writers, and comic enthusiasts with members from different colleges, all with varied interests, united by an appreciation for comics. As part of their anniversary this year, they will be celebrating Philippine comics with Mga Kwentong Komikero, a series of events promoting the local comic industry and its contributors, the appreciation and the creation of comics, and the importance of telling the Filipino story.

The event is free admission but are encouraged to however much is possible as part of the proceeds will go to the UP Diliman Faculty Center.
