WEBCOMIC REVIEW: Tabi Po Isyu Blg. 1

(Note: Tabi Po is a Pinoy webcomic by Mervin Malonzo. Currently, we’re at Isyu Blg. 16. Expect Isyus 2 onwards in the weeks to come.)

I’ve actually browsed through this webcomic before due to its captivating art, so it’s given that it’s aesthetically enticing—more on that later.

In this issue, we are treated to what seems to be a night of intimacy: the narrator’s dialogue, extreme close-ups for the eyes, lips, and a fly (no kidding). It’s a night of intimacy alright. You’ll just have to read it to see what I’m talking about.

That being said, I think I can speculate that the creator’s style is rough and intense, like the audience is in for a wild ride with Tabi Po. But he ends it with light and humor, which makes the protagonist’s (unnamed this issue) life interesting.

If there is one qualm about it is the lack of proper use of punctuation marks. That’s how interesting Mervin’s work is.

RATING: 4 out 5 eviscerated bodies
