FLIPREADS Presents 24-Hour KOMIXATHON

For all aspiring storytellers, cartoonists and comic book creators or to any Juan or Juana who wants to try in this sort of art medium, Flipreads gives you an opportunity with their KOMIXATHON.

In line with the Summer Komikon on May 26, 2012, Komikon, Flipreads, and Flipside Publishing are proud to present a 24-hour comic competition entitled Komixathon. The event will be held on May 19, 2012 and three winners will be chosen from the participants, in addition to a reader’s choice award. The winners will be announced during Komikon and awarded a publishing contract from Flipside Publishing.

Registration will take place on April 25, 2012 to May 16, 2012. Komixathon itself will be held between noon of May 19, 2012 to noon of May 20, 2012. Registered users will receive a username and password which will allow them to upload their comics to Flipside’s servers during those two days. Interested participants can email adam@flipside.ph to register.

A 24-hour comic book is a comic book-creation constraint pioneered by Scott McCloud and Steve Bissette, where a comic book is written, drawn, and published in the span of only twenty-four hours.
