Hardware Rumors for SAMSUNG GALAXY S5
Samsung will be unveiling their newest flagship phone (Galaxy S5) in just a few weeks, and here’s some details on the latest hardware rumors for the upcoming smartphone in a nutshell.
- Processor
- Rumor – According to some leaks, Samsung’s very own Exynos 6 or Snapdragon 805
- Snapdragon 805 may pack a Krait 450 quad-core CPU that runs at speeds up to 2.5GHz per core, plus an Adreno 420 graphics which is optimized for UHD capture and playback.
- No details yet on the Exynos 6, but it might pack a 64-bit chip.
- Display
- Rumor – 5.2 inches for 560ppi (compared to iPhone 5S’ 326ppi and S4’s 441ppi)
- Rumor – A photo of a retail packaging sent to SamsungGalaxyS5.nl lists a 5.25inch QHD Super AMOLED display.
- Camera
- Rumor – 16-megapixel with Samsung’s ISOCELL technology that would boost photography in low light settings as well as improved color, sharpness and richness.
- Rumor – front facing camera has a 3.2-megapixel lens.
- RAM
- Rumor – full 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM
- Storage
- Rumor – 32GB and 64GB (the S4 used 8GB of storage)
- Battery
- Rumor – 3000 mAh battery (SamsungGalaxyS5.nl).
- Styling
- Rumor – no more plastic casing, to be replaced with metal.
- Security
- Rumor – fingerprint scanning technology, that would also enable users to register upto 8 fingerprints for performing tasks and other functionalities.
