THE PUGS OF WESTEROS – Cuteness is Coming

Roxy, Blue and Bono are three adorable pugs who love being  dressed up by their human parents, Philip and Sue Lauer.   It also happens that the couple, like almost everyone nowadays, are big fans of the “Game of Thrones” TV series.   “We haven’t missed an episode,” Philip said.   To commemorate the release of Season 4, the UK-based streaming service, blinkbox.com, collaborated with Philip and Sue, and had their pets outfitted as several of the show’s familiar and well-loved characters.   Sue, a professional photographer and designer, supervised the picture-taking, costumes and set designs involved the photoshoot.   “The sets, the costumes, the way the actor brings that character to life, to try to capture that, in a pug version, is a great challenge,” she said.   And while they may not be direwolves, these pugs have got to be the cutest and most wholesome GoT tribute this side of the Seven Kingdoms.

Robb Stark, Ned Stark and Jon Snow

From left to right: Robb Stark, Ned Stark and Jon Snow (I love how these pugs managed to convey the solemnity and seriousness of the Stark men – maybe they should reconsider changing their sigil)

Jon Snow

Jon Snow (does he look like he knows nothing?)

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen (the toy dragons are both cute and appropriate, but I keep thinking, “Wig!”)

Joffrey Baratheon

Joffrey Baratheon (looking very smug because he knows you won’t slap him)

Littlefinger

Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish (he’s not supposed to be trusted, but who can resist that adorable face?)

Varys

Varys the Spider (giving his best “all of your secrets are safe with me” look)

Tyrion Lannister

Tyrion Lannister (pugs are short and bow-legged, much like Tyrion himself)

After months of shooting and preparation, check out the final promotional trailer below!

Growing up, my telenovelas were not "Anna Lisa" and "Gulong ng Palad" but "Daimos" and "Voltes V". And let's not forget "Candy Candy".
