Empowerment in Gaming: The Valkyrae and Fuslie Scholarship Grant

AcadArena, a Philippine-based collegiate esports organization, has launched a new initiative called AcadArena Scholarships & Aid (ASA) to provide educational assistance, financial grants, and gear aid to talented student gamers in need. The program aims to support and promote the development of student gamers in the Philippines, and has partnered with Valkyrae and Fuslie, two prominent female gaming content creators from esports organization, 100 Thieves, to offer three scholarships to Filipino students.

Valkyrae’s Homecoming Scholarship is a celebration of her return to the Philippines and will be available to Grade 12 students to undergraduate college students who possess a passion for playing games while managing their academic pursuits. Three awardees will receive a FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIP of up to PHP 180,000 each. The scholarship will be awarded on stage during CONQuest, a gaming and esports event in the Philippines, on June 2-4, 2023. The application period is from April 4 to May 22, 2023, with the announcement of awardees on May 26, 2023.

Fuslie’s Scholarship for Women in Gaming aims to empower female students in the gaming space and encourage more women to pursue leadership positions and speak up against harassment. The scholarship is open to enrolled Grade 12 students to undergraduate college students, and two awardees will receive a FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIP of up to PHP 135,000 each. The scholarship will be awarded on stage during CONQuest 2023 on June 4, 2023, and the application period is from April 4 to May 22, 2023, with the announcement of awardees on May 26, 2023.

CONQuest Scholarship is open to all students enrolled in the Philippines from Grade 12 to Undergraduate College, and one awardee will receive a PHP 100,000 grant. Ten random applicants from February 21 to April 29, 2023, will receive CONQuest Festival 2023 (Friday Pass), and the winners will be announced on April 30, 2023. The scholarship will be awarded on June 1, 2023. The application period is from February 21 to May 26, 2023, and no essay is required to apply.
