Garena has finally entered the mobile scene with its very own game to rival the current king of mobile MOBA Mobile Legends: Arena of Valor.
Arena of Valor or AOV is pretty much everything you’d expect from a mobile MOBA game. You have a pool of champions that you can get by getting through tutorials and fulfilling a few requirements. You have your basic team compositions, different types of arenas, skins and friend system.
What sets AOV apart are two things: the Armory and the Arcana pages.
The Armory is where you can create a custom item build for your heroes. You can also choose from several builds that other people have already tried and tested, known as Pro Builds. You can select which build you want for your hero or create one of your own. Pretty much like League of Legends (LoL).
The Arcana page is similar to LoL’s rune page, where you have a set of arcanas/runes to make your hero better. The Arcana page has three major divisions: Strength (red), Life (Purple) and Willpower (green). Slots will be available at Level 7, and you will receive one opened slot every time you level up.
If you’re a fan of MOBA games, Arena of Valor’s gameplay mechanics will be easy to learn. I also appreciate the specific that the players can tweak and experiment Arena of Valor’s gameplay settings to have a customize and smooth gameplay experience.
Arena of Valor’s visuals are amazing. The characters are fun and easy to learn. If you’re already familiar with other mobile MOBA games, you’d still see similarities when it comes to the heroes. Not sure what their aim is for that, not only with Arena of Valor but with other games as well. It might appeal to some gamers when it comes to the familiarity of the heroes’ mechanics and skills set but for me, it’s definitely a minus.
Overall, I especially like AOV for its unique features. For me it has a better game play experience and a better interface than most MOBA games out there. I had wanted to see new characters I could play with, so I’m a little disappointed with their current roster. However, I’m still looking forward to where Arena of Valor takes me from here.
