Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is the second installment to the trilogy of the movie adaptation of the manga and anime series by Nobuhiro Watsuki’s  which features the wandering Samurai Kenshin Himura.  Kyoto Inferno is the first part of two movies, culminating with “The Legend Ends”.  The movies were a commercial success in the box office when they were released locally in cinemas.

The DVD to Kyoto Inferno has recently made its way to record bar stores as a DVD release. Your Flipgeeks team was at the album launch, hosted by fandoms Amuse Philippines and Sato Takeru Philippines and made possible by Magnavision Home Entertainment. After the successful launch it’s time to review the DVD.

If you enjoyed the movie then you would surely enjoy reliving all those feelings you felt when you’re watching the DVD. Because the two movies (Kyoto Inferno and The Legend Ends) were released within a month of each other it was like one whole movie to me so getting to watch the DVD I remembered which scenes belonged to which movie :P

I was crying a lot when I watched the movie for the first time and I found myself still crying as I watch re-watching the movie on DVD, the scenes are just so powerful. Aside from the dramatic and touching scenes in the movie, the fight scenes are just as awesome as I remember them and since I have the DVD I can re-watch those fight scenes and just gawk at how they were choreographed and shot.

The DVD was enjoyable but I have to say that I was really disappointed that there were no special features included in the DVD, I mean the special features in DVDs are the reason you are extra excited to get home and watch it, especially when you’ve already seen the movie and the fact that there were no special features in the DVD was a real let down. Fans would gladly pay extra to get more out of the DVD – I hope Warner Bros. includes extra features in The Legend Ends DVD.

Whether you are a fan of the Rurouni Kenshin anime / manga or a fan of Takeru Sato – you have to get the DVD – it’s a great addition to any collection or it could be a profession of your love for the wandering samurai (^^x

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is now available in Astroplus and Odyssey stores.
