Emilia Clarke and Sam Claiflin are two strong leads in this movie. Clarke proving to be a talented actress with her expressive face, every twist and angle of her eyebrows alone had the audience laughing. The two have a strong chemistry that resonates on screen.

Audiences may not know what they're in for when they step in the theater. This is more than just your "young-adult romance" as it also tackles topics on morality.

“The Fault In Our Stars”, “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”, this generation seems to have a fascination with love and death or finding love in death. We are seeing more and more of this in book to movie adaptations, as stated in the earlier examples. The latest manifestation of which is Jojo Moye’s “Me Before You”.

While the characters of “Stars” and “Earl” deal with cancer, the rich and handsome (and very English) Will Traynor (Sam Claiflin) was a rich and successful financier before being struck by a motorcycle, leaving him a quadriplegic, losing the use of his body from the neck down and being confined to a wheel chair, dependent on thecare of hired help for even the most basic of daily functions.

Enter our cheery and optimistic leading lady in the persona of Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, who just lost her job in the quaint cafe she has worked in all her life. Desperate for work to support her family, Lou jumps at the opportunity (“it’s good money” ) to be a companion to Will. Mrs. Traynor (Janet McTeer) hopes that Lou would cheer up the cynical and sarcastic Will.

With an array of colorful outfits, Lou does her best to spread cheer around Will and while the two are anything but two peas in a pod, case in point Lou being aghast at watching films with subtitles, something Will enjoys. The two get along after a rocky start and this will surely have audiences drunk with notions of love and romance.

The story takes a turn when Lou finds out that Will has committed himself to an (SPOILER!) “Assisted Suicide Institution” in Switzerland and that he has just promised his parents six months. Camilla Traynor was initially hoping that the “cheery waitress” would change Will’s mind and Lour becomes determined to do so-even planning an extravagant trip.

Will has always pushed Lou to make the most of her life, since Lou seems content to live out the rest of it in the quiet English town that they both call home, this, because Will himself has lived the “James Bond Lifestyle” of “girls, money and adventure”.

In the whirlwind of six months, the two fall in love and with Lou now in Will’s life will he still push through with Switzerland?

“Me Before You” is the tragic romance-drama (with bits of comedy) you could have wanted with a pair of strong leads (Clarke and Claiflin) and with their potent chemistry on screen, they carry the story forward and even tread on delicate topics such as euthanasia and while there could have been room to discuss the subject, the film still accomplishes its objective of making you laugh, cry and fall in love.
