Game of Thrones Regular Aidan Gillen To Star In THE MAZE RUNNER Sequel!
Game Of Thrones regular Aidan Gillen - who is known for his brilliant portrayal of the scheming royal Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, has been cast for The Maze Runner’s sequel film The Scorch Trials.
The news broke out through a report made by Hollywood Reporter, a day after 20th Century Fox announced that a theatrical adaptation of the said book’s sequel has been greenlit, with majority of the cast set to reprise their roles.
Gillen will be playing the role of Janson, one of the book’s main villains. Filming will begin this October, with Wes Ball returning to the directorial chair for the project.
The first Maze Runner film is an adaption of James Dashner’s YA book series. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows the story of Thomas (played by Dylan O’Brien), a young man who wakes up to find himself in a community of kids welcoming him to the “Glade” – a large expanse of land completely surrounded by a concrete maze.
Dashner has also written three books altogether, paving the path for a possible film trilogy.
