HP Released a Gaming Laptop Called OMEN

HP released their first official gaming laptop called the OMEN.

Initially priced at $1, 500, Omen was made by HP to compete with Razer’s Blade. Like its competitor the Omen was made to be “portable and sleek, with a chassis CNC milled from solid aluminum, and anodized with a black finish.” according an HP press release. Measuring at only 19.9mm thin and 4.68lbs, it will certainly be easier to carry compared to other gaming laptops.

Packing a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of memory, and an Nvidia GTX 870M, HP seeks to separate its Omen from the Blade with its cooling system because “heat is typically the enemy of performance”. The cooling systems not only aims to manage the heat inside the laptop but to keep the heat away from the keyboard and the player’s hands.

Rahul Sood, previous owner of VoodooPC which is now owned by HP, told Gizmodo that “I was looking to be disappointed, but I’m not. It’s quite good,” .
