Studio Ghibil Unveils Debut Trailer For WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE!

When Marnie Was There is Studio Ghibli’s first movie without the presence of the studio’s
co-founders, Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata.

An adaptation of Joan G. Robinson’s book of the same title– it is directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi who was also the director of  The Secret World of Arriety. The music used for the trailer is also somewhat similar to Ghibli’s soundtrack to the aforementioned 2010 feature film. Nevertheless, Ghibli’s signature beautiful landscapes and flawlessly smooth animation is ever present in the trailer but as to how the actual film will fare story-wise (and Miyazaki-less-wise) only time will tell.
