The film release of Birds of Prey at the beginning of the year had introduced more DC characters to the mainstream movie-watching audience. One of the characters featured is Huntress, a crossbow wielding hero who’s originally part of the Bat-family and the all-superheroine group Birds of Prey.
So with a new franchise movie comes new merchandise. For this review, we have the Banpresto Q Posket Birds of Prey Huntress version A figure. There are two version of this figure: version A features more muted colors as seen in the movie, and version B has more vibrant and saturated purples to resemble a more comic book style.
The figure is very simple. It comes in four parts – base, body, head, and crossbow accessory – and it’s easy to assemble. Huntress’ pose is just the standard standing museum pose for an easy display, so you have look for another figure if a dynamic action pose is what you prefer. Size is on the small side, however, and for its SRP of PHP 850 you can probably get another Huntress figure on a bigger scale with more detail.
Paint application is top-notch, as typical of Banpresto products. Even if the figure is made from PVC material, the paint job is excellent and does not have than plastic sheen appearance like some cheaper plastic figures have.
What makes this stand out is the art style. Q Posket is a line of chibi-designed figures of different pop culture properties. Not a lot of collectors are into that kind of art style, so it may be an acquired taste. But this line is perfect if that fits your collecting preference, or if just want something simple and cute.
