Clutter by Mich Cervantes is indeed a clutter… of good content in such a small package.
Clutter contains two short stories and a selection of artworks. The first story tells of a mother-daughter relationship brought together by their love of music while the second story – Pairs, is about a bump in a relationship. It’s clear that Cervantes does well with storytelling with how her first story is really touching in just a few pages. Pairs is what really caught my attention as Cervantes delivered another good story but this one in an indirect manner by showing a clutter of objects that tells something clear.
As for the art, Mich does greatly as well. From the first story’s usage of purple to the second story’s simplicity of using the cellphone as a notable subject. After the two stories are Mich’s selected artwork that are really nice and looks solid which really showcases and establishes her art style well.
Overall, Clutter feels like a sampler that packs a lot of content that demonstrates Mich’s skill in short but great storytelling and exquisite artwork.
