The Graveyard Shift has been on quite the roll since its debut last year and with this 3rd issue, Chelsea Oleta decides to lighten up on moving the story forward to give some focus on Maya.
Majority of this issue revolves around Maya’s video call with her headless friend, Pupu which made for a lot of charming comedy and gave more details on Maya as a person before moving to America. An example of small moments revealing a big picture. Oleta’s art has gradually gotten a more bouncier vibe here without changing her already fun art style. Her character expressions are still my favorite aspect of her art.
The Graveyard Shift #3 shifts prioritizes character focus before moving the story forward again which provided just as much fun as previous issue. Oleta’s work continues to be enjoyable and is definitely something any komiks reader shouldn’t pass up!
