Weeks before San Diego Comic Con 2017, DC Comics announced that HARLEY QUINN & BATMAN will have a prequel comic book. While it was too early to give a final verdict for this series (considering that this is a digital-first release), I was surprisingly disappointed with the Eisner award-winning team of Ty Templeton and Rick Burchett. The story was dry and the dialogues felt uncharacteristic. Like I said, its too early to give a final verdict, but chapter 1 of 5 felt incomplete.
Harley Quinn and Batman Chapter 1 fell short to the hype it was attached to. Waiting for the complete run would probably be a better option for the fans. Harley Quinn and Batman is a five-chapter prequel series. It is sure to pick up its pace in the subsequent chapters.
