MEET Your FAVORITE Pop Culture Personalities at STGCC 2012

The Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2012, the biggest pop culture event in Singapore definitely has loads of stuff and activities awaiting us. Aside from cosplay, booths and exhibits that definitely needs to be checked out (see more details here). But another thing about conventions that we really look forward to, is the chance to meet our favorite pop culture personalities – from comics illustrators to toy designers and more!

Below are the list of special guests that will be coming to STGCC 2012:

First up is Pinoy comics artist — Mark Torres. Last year’s STGCC also featured special guests from the Philippines, these are the talented comics artists – Mico Suayan, Carlo Pagulayan, Stephen Segovia and Harvey Tolibao. And with Mark going there, showing some pinoy pride and world class talent, it definitely makes us Filipinos proud. So all you Pinoys in Singapore, dont’ you miss out this year’s STGCC!
Mark Torres doesn’t sleep. Much. Various stints in graphic design and illustration keep him from a normal life. Growing up weaned on 80s cartoons, comics and toys have led him to pursue art, and eventually as a comics artist. He notes Alex Toth, Sergio Toppi, Mike Mignola and Ashley Wood as his big inspirations, along with filmmakers David Fincher, Chris Nolan, JJ Abrams and the Master, Bruce Lee. He describes his style as graphic, experimental and always evolving, mixing traditional with digital tools and approaches to create the best results possible. Music, coffee and booze are some of his best buddies, especially during those long hours slaving over pieces.
