Dan Slott to Leave Amazing Spider-Man?

Marvel’s March 2018 solicitations for Amazing Spider-Man #797 seems to infer that it’s going to be mainstay writer Dan Slott’s final story for the book. The issue kicks off a new arc titled “Go Down Swinging” with art by Stuart Immonen.

The issue’s solicitations read that Dan Slott has “saved his most harrowing Spider-Man story for last.” The story sees the Green Goblin’s most sinister scheme yet and also introduces a new character called the Red Goblin.

Slott has been writing Spider-Man’s adventures for a decade now, starting in Amazing Spider-Man #546 way back in 2008 as part of the Spidey Brain Trust, a group of rotating writers during the book’s weekly publication schedule. Then starting with issue #648, Slott took the sole writing position ever since.
