ISTORYAHAN for a Cause
Last July 6th, UP Graphics Arts in Literature (UP GRAIL) held their event Istoryahan: A Comics + Music + Poetry + Film Night at Blue Rocket Cafe + Kitchen. The event was a benefit gig organized by the UP Graphic Arts in Literature (GRAIL) for the UP Diliman Faculty Center that burned down just this year. For their 17th anniversary, they’ve decided to do all this to help get their home college, the College of Arts and Letters, back on its feet.
The event featured different performance, such as music by Hannah Palima, poetry reading by Olivia Soloman, Van Sulitas, and Trisha O’ Bannon. Film screening of “Uwian Na” by Joanne Cesario and “Oda Sa Mga Mangangarap” by JM Jamisola. Comic reading of Joanne Cesario and Michelle Bacabac’s work, and Rob Cham’s Light and Lost. There was also the stand up comedy of Josel Nicolas and Andren Bernardo.
They also invited some artists to sell their crafts during the event, of which a part of the sales was donated.
“We would like to thank everyone for being a part of this and helping us make our events successful.” after remarks of Franz (UP Grail) for the success of their event. “We were able to raise a total of Php 3,010 for our cause. A huge success for everyone!”
Istoryahan lives up to its name by featuring stories in the form of music, films, poetry, stand up comedy, and comics reading.
