REVIEW: ‘Batman White Knight #3′ is a riot!
Sean Murphy’s Batman: White Knight is starting to unfold and a lot of things are already set in place.
Jack Napier was able to orchestrate an attack on Gotham no one has ever seen before. Gang leaders and super villains work together as they were controlled by Harley Quinn through the mind control devise they stole from Mad Hatter. Will Batman be able to save Gotham? Or is this another ploy to show Batman in a bad light?
Sean Murphy’s Batman: White Knight is starting to unfold and a lot of things are already set in place. The story is unique and unprecedented. Never have I thought that Joker—err, Jack Napier can use Joker’s brilliance as a tool to defeat Batman. After all those years, Joker—err, Jack Napier has finally outplayed the Dark Knight.
The only thing that I didn’t like about this issue was that it was filled with a lot of setting-up. It’s a non-stop action book but there was too much of everything in it. There’s this panel sequences that I thought lacked the proper moment. Like it was shortened to fit a lot of side stories in the book. I think Sean wasted that moment. It could have been one of those moments that could define White Knight as one of the most devastating Batman stories there is.
Art, as usual, is great. Expect nothing less from Sean Murphy’s artwork. I also like to highlight Matt Hollingsworth’s coloring. There’s this page were he used different color hues that worked perfectly to convey the emotions felt by those characters. It was perfect.
Batman: White Knight is turning out to be one of the best stories for this year. Don’t miss out on this issue. Not only is it a good read, but it is also the first full appearance of a new villain.
