REVIEW: Fresh recruits in ‘Red Hood and the Outlaws #17′
Red Hood and the Outlaws #17 is slowly marinating this Bizarro story by planning all the seeds he needs for the big development.
Red Hood and the Outlaws were “recruited” by Amanda Waller to help the Suicide Squad in a mission at the top of the world. The task is to prevent a complex from blowing up in order to save millions of lives. Will the inclusion of the Outlaws change the whole dynamics of the Squad? Or will they work together in order to complete the mission? Either way, we all know that the Outlaws are screwed for getting involved with Amanda Waller.
Ever since Scott Lobdell gave Bizarro an intellectual capacity greater than Batman, the book got interesting. Fans have been trying to find out how the story will pan out and how this development will affect the chemistry of the group. Since then, Lobdell has thrown the Outlaws in a gauntlet of match-ups and now he’s teaming them up with the Suicide Squad. Many wondered if Lobdell is discretely brushing off the Bizarro story-line and sliding in new stories. On the contrary, I believe that Lobdell is slowly marinating the Bizarro story by planning all the seeds he needs for the big development. If you don’t think so, Red Hood and the Outlaws #17 brings back the focus on Bizarro’s relationship with the team. I do hope we get to see the ball rolling as the Bizarro story-line is really interesting.
Dex Soy and Veronica Gandini, once again, did a great job with the interior artwork. The two have been bringing out the best in each other. I am hoping that the two will work together for a very long time since I’m really enjoying their collaboration.
