Joseph Gordon-Levitt chooses to signs for ‘SIN CITY’ Sequel instead of Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Joseph Gordon-Levitt signs for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Lately, there were strong rumors that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) will sign and take the lead role for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, Deadline has reported that JGL has passed on Guardians and will sign on another comic book movie – Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

So I guess JGL chose a more ‘grounded’ movie than an off-world, sci-fi like Guardians. But it’s okay since Sin City is a good movie franchise, and the first one was very good. JGL will play “Johnny”, a character supposedly aimed for Johnny Depp . Alongside returning casts such as Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson, this movie has great potential. I just hope that Frank Miller does great this time, since his past few film inclusions were just bad and well, Sin City is his baby after all.  Besides, Robert Rodriguez is back in directing the film too.

The new movie is both a prequel and a sequel to the first movie, and adapts the original stories - A Dame to Kill For and Just Another Saturday Night plus two new stories written by Frank Miller specifically for the movie. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is currently scheduled for an October 4 2013 release. Don’t fail us Frank… don’t fail us!
