Frank Miller Returns to THE DARK KNIGHT Series

11017875_955408614483516_1958985368157676928_nDC Entertainment has officially announced the return of bestselling comic writer and artist Frank Miller into The Dark Knight series for one final chapter.

The Dark Knight III: The Master Race is the conclusion to Miller’s 1986 critically acclaimed graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns and its 2001 follow-up Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again.

Brian Azarello (100 Bullets, Wonder Woman) will join Miller on the eight-issue mini-series, to be published twice a month by DC Comics. No artist has been announced for the project at this point.

“Batman remains my favorite comic book hero and a sequel to Dark Knight is going to be daunting,” said Miller, “but we’ll do our best.”

“We are thrilled to have Frank back home at DC writing Batman,” stated Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, Co-Publishers for DC Entertainment. “The story he and Brian have crafted is an astounding and triumphant conclusion to this seminal body of work which influenced and shaped generations of readers and creators alike.”

The Dark Knight III: The Master Race is slated to be release this late fall, which also marks the 30th anniversary of the original The Dark Knight Returns series.
