After Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield, it was Tom Holland who donned the Spider-Man suit next. Ever since he first appeared in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man:Homecoming, and most recently in Avengers: Infinity War, there was clamor for more of our favorite neighborhood wall-crawler. In fact, a new video game is coming out later this week, an exclusive on the Playstation 4, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Aside from video games, tons of Spider-Man action figures also came out since Tom Holland became Peter Parker. Today we are reviewing Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid Spider-Man: Homecoming Edition.
PACKAGING 9/10
Spider-Man: Homecoming Edition comes in the standard Nendoroid packaging. The clear plastic in the front shows you what you’ll expect to get, the Spider-Man Nendoroid figure, replaceable eyes, and webs. The color scheme pre-dominantly in different shades of blue which still mixed with the rest of Spidey’s colors, yellow and red. The sides and the back shows box art of Spider-Man in different poses. If you’re the type of collector who likes to keep figures in mint condition, the box is highly displayable as is.
ACCESSORIES 10/10
This Spidey Nendoroid has everything that you would want in a Spider-Man collectible. You have 2 web accessories, 2 web shooters, replaceable pair of hands, 2 extra sets of eyes, a figure stand and an unmasked face of Peter Parker as an added bonus. There isn’t anything more that I could ask for in this figure.
SCULP AND PAINT 9/10
For a figure that’s almost 4 inches tall, the attention to detail given in this figure is highly intricate. You wouldn’t even notice where to detach the mask/face plate as it is carefully designed to go along with the web in the mask. The body is patterned of course after the Homecoming suit. Also, the unmasked Peter Parker/Tom Holland head is definitely as cute as it can get.
ARTICULATION 10/10
What I really love about the Nendoroid Spider-Man is the articulation. This figure is highly articulated and it feels like it’s a 6 inch/ 1/12 figure in a 4 inch body. I also noticed that compared to the Anime Nendoroids, Spidey has an articulated midsection, which helps recreating different Spidey poses. As you can see in the photos, I had a lot of fun playing with this figure.
VERDICT 9.5/10
I really had a blast playing, i mean reviewing, Nendoroid’s Spider-Man Homecoming Edition. Based on the things I’ve mentioned and the photos I took, this figure is not only highly collectible but also playable too! The joints/pegs are sturdy so there’s no fear of breaking in recreating different Spidey poses. I’m glad that Good Smile Company has acquired the license to Western properties such as Marvel’s Spider-Man as they are known for Anime/Manga properties. This is actually the highest rating that I’ve given to any figure so if you happen to come across this figure on your next toy hunt, be sure not to pass on it, it’s a sure buy and definitely a wonderful addition to your collection.
