Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Gets a Live-Action Film

Light novel author, Hirasaka Yomi, confirmed that a live-action film of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai is in the works.

He also posted an announcement on his site about it. The idea of adapting his story to a live-action is first offered last June 2011 when the anime have just started. He turned down the offer because he did not consider it to be good for a live-action. Due to the sense of crisis about the light novel industry, he approves the offer and hopes that these adaptations (anime, games, or live-action) will bring new readers in the industry.

However, he notes that he won’t be involved in the production of the film. He will leave it to the hands of experts. The staff and cast are yet to be announced.

The series, also known as Haganai, revolves around Hasegawa Kodaka who often scare people with his delinquent look, and his classmate Yozora who have an imaginary friend she called Tomo. The two of them decided to form a club called “Rinjinbu” for misfits like them.
