With the recent release of Kick-Ass #1, Millarworld has no stop in releasing the new return of Hit-Girl. HIT-GIRL #1 continues right after Kick-Ass 3, and Mindy is still the young killing machine that we always know.
Hit-Girl longs for a replacement for a sidekick as Kick-Ass. However, she couldn’t stand to wait any longer. She then decides to accept a request from a mother from Colombia who seeks vengeance for the murder of her child.
Having decades of writing this little lethal adolescent superhero vigilante, Mark Millar brings a new approach. His script brings his new artist big comfort by giving a more action-packed and diverse scenes. Millar brings out a side of Hit-Girl of fun and enjoyment that would surely surprise us.
John Romita Jr. is a tough artist to replace. However, Ricardo Lopez Ortiz does not let us down bringing on his own flavor of art. Solely, his style emphasizes with out a hint of the previous artist as it inspires coming from manga, Riley Rossmo and Carlorozy, he puts out great loose lines and dynamic psychedelic storytelling.
Apart from being a young killing machine as we all know her then, this is surely a new kind of Hit-Girl that we’ve never seen before. Hit-Girl #1 will surely surprise readers – old and new – as it brings out new possibilities of fun and violence to read.
