This title has been an enjoyable ride so far, it seems Mark Millar plans to pick up the pace even more. The world-building continues on in The Magic Order #2, but more importantly we are given a background check on one of the Moonstones.

The first issue gave us an insight into Leonard Moonstone’s sons, The Magic Order #2 shines the light on his daughter. The issue opens with Cordelia Moonstone narrating her wildly unconventional childhood while in the middle of an escape performance. And the scene wraps up nicely with a typical Millar twist.

As always, Olivier Coipel’s art is spectacular to behold. Through several scenes, Coipel gets to be creative in portraying just how deadly the mysterious assassin that’s been killing magicians of the order one by one.

The Magic Order #2 continues the thrilling suspense that Millar established by its debut issue. The added mystery of its villain, whose name is revealed as The Venetian, poses a sense of dread whenever he appears on the scene. Millar and Coipel certainly has a hit in their hands.
