Patlabor Live Action Details Emerge

Remember that old school manga and TV series based on mobile police mecha called Patlabor? Good news is, a live action version is well on it’s way to the big sceen.

Recently, new details emerge regarding the Patlabor project – The Next Generation Patlabor. It is reported that in 2014, the project will kick off with 12 episodes approximately having a run-time of 48 minutes each will hit theaters in 2014, and will have a 100-minute followup film to be shown in 2015. There’s no details or info regarding the actual plot and story, but we are sure that this is not a reboot but would be a different story.

The project will be spearheaded by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor 2: The Movie) , serving as a primary director. With a budget of $26,000,000 , together with a director who has experience, do you guys think this will work? Let us know too!
