DC is on a roll in this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

After releasing the Titans trailer, another live-action series has been revealed to be added to the DC Universe streaming service – Stargirl.

The announcement was made by Geoff Johns during his spotlight panel in SDCC, and added that he will write and executive produce the series along with Greg Berlanti. Furthermore, Johns admitted that his role in Stargirl is what partially led to him stepping down as DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer earlier this year.

“It’s so personal for me, and to create and run my show … this is the kind of opportunity that I couldn’t have had if I had stayed in that role,” Johns said of the series.

Johns assured fans that the Justice Society of America will appear in the series as well.

“Stargirl is the doorway into a team that’s very close to my heart, the JSA,” Johns explained. “It’s all about her bringing back the legacy of the Justice Society.”

Premiering in 2019, Stargirl is the sixth series in DC Universe’s slate of TV shows, joining Titans, Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol, Metropolis and two animated series Harley Quinn and Young Justice: Outsiders.
