Gunpla Rumors for 2012

Can’t wait for upcoming Gunpla (Gundam Plastic) model kits for this year? Well there’s been a list circulating around that spoils much of this year’s crop of kits:

*Note that this list is not 100% set yet and may include more or less models as official announcements from Bandai trickle

Master Grade (MG) Series:

More than 80% probability

MG Buster Gundam
MG Blitz Gundam
MG Aegis Gundam
MG Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee
MG Tallgeese – already confirmed!

As above, it’s gonna be a big year for SEED fans as 3 of the GAT-X series will be getting the MG treatment following up the spectacular SEED HG rerelease of the 5 main MS from the series. As for Gundam Wing fans, celebrations are on the way for MG Tallgeese although question is, will it be convertible to all three vesions of the suit? No word on that yet but let’s keep our fingers crossed!

And then there’s the MG Unicorn Banshee. ‘Nuff said

More than 60% probability

MG GN-X IV
MG Justice Gundam
MG Marasai
MG Altron Gundam EW Kai

Now the ones above are long overdue, especially the MG Justice and GN-X IV. especially for the GN-X IV since there’s only been a handful of ‘villain’ MG’s around.

More than 40% probability

MG Hyakushiki Ver.2.0
MG Geara Zulu
MG Jegan
MG Jesta
MG Loto

For this list, more MG ‘grunt’ suits are always welcome. But if the Hyakushiki becomes a reality, it will be a riot!

20% probability

MG Gundam The Origin Ver.
MG Knight Gundam

And finally, for the last couple predictions for MG, both would be most welcome to anybody’s MG collection especially the Knight Gundam who has yet to have a decent kit version and in MG nonetheless!

Perfect Grade (PG )Series – unfortunately for Perfect Grade fans, there are no announcements or spceulations(yet) for a Perfect Grade release thi year.

Now for 1/144 scale, things look bright. Take a look at this year’s likely line-up:

Real Grade(RG) Series:

RG Gundam Unicorn
RG Gundam Exia
RG Justice Gundam
RG G-Fighter
RG GM
RG Zaku I

All of the above would be steallar choices for Bandai especially for the Unicorn and Exia which fans are clamoring for.

High Grade (HG) Series:

1/144 HGUC Anksha
1/144 HGUC Rozen Zulu
1/144 HGUC Jesta Cannon
1/144 HGUC Qubeley Mass Production
1/144 HGUC Nemo
1/144 HGUC Dreissen (ZZ Ver.)
1/144 HGUC Gaza D
1/144 HGUC Capule
1/144 HGUC Gundam Ez8
1/144 HGUC GM Ground Type
1/144 HGUC Guntank Mass Production
1/144 HGUC GM Sniper
1/144 HGUC Gouf Flight Type
1/144 HGUC Gerbera Tetra
1/144 HGUC Xamel
1/144 HGUC Efreet
1/144 HGUC Guncannon Detector
1/144 HGUC Gallus J
1/144 HGUC Gallus K
1/144 HGUC Aqua GM
1/144 HGUC Zogok
1/144 HGUC Prototype Stark Jegan
1/144 HGUC Byarlant Custom
1/144 HGUC Efreet Schneid
1/144 HGUC Zaku Mariner
1/144 HGUC Dowadge
1/144 HGUC Zaku Cannon
1/144 HGUC Desert Zaku
1/144 HGUC Sinanju Stein
1/144 HGUC Gundam Delta Kai
1/144 HGFC Rising Gundam
1/144 HGFC Gundam Spiegel
1/144 HGFC Gundam Maxter
1/144 HGFC Dragon Gundam

And for High Grade Universal Century fans, the line continually swells with a lot of amazing choices, fan favorites include: the Ez-8, Nemo, GM Sniper, Gouf Flight type, and the loads of Zakus, GMs and other grunts. Lest we forget, the game only Sinanju Stein is set, so Zeon fans rejoice!

Last but not least, the High Grade Fighting Century line-up is nearing completion with the addition of Rising, Spiegel, Maxter and Dragon leaving out the Rose and Bolt Gundams from the Shuffle Union. Question now is: will the HGFC be ultimately completed and will it ever include the ever elusive (and predictably expensive) Devil Gundam?

This is indeed a good year to be a gunpla fan!
