Two weeks after the launch of a new countdown page for the next Gundam incarnation, Sunrise held a press event to formally announce the fall premiere of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans.

The event was graced by officials from Sunrise, MBS, and Bandai alike, as they express enthusiasm regarding this newest Gundam Anime. Aside from the show’s details, an upcoming lineup of Gunpla toys from the show was teased as well, with 1/100, 1/144 and MG scale figures already in development for the protagonist Gundam suit.

As of writing, here are the details released regarding Iron Blooded Orphans:

- The show is directed by seasoned Anime helmer Tatsuyuki Nagai, with scripts/story from Mari Okada.
– This incarnation’s timeline is Post Disaster 323, an era that saw a world ravaged by 300 years of conflicts and bloodshed.
– The show’s protagonists are Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka. Both of them are part of a mercenary group composed of orphaned soldiers who banded together to seek a place they can call home.
– The main Gundam suit, named Barbatos, is a relic from the previous war. It will be found by the protagonists as a wrecked suit, but is bound to evolve through countless battles and upgrades.
– Barbatos is a unique suit, in the sense that it can cannibalize parts for its own evolution.

Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans is set to premiere this 4th of October, on TBS/MBS. Check out the press event’s recap and the announce trailer above.
