LEGO ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit” will rule us all in 2012

One brick to rule them all …

LEGO just announced their plans to release new building sets based on Warner Bros. (WB) film adaptations of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, plus the two upcoming films based on The Hobbit in 2012. The good news is, Lego has the right to make everything from Middle Earth as presented in the Peter Jackson movies. So what are you guys exctied about? –Buildings like, the Dwarven city of Moria? Bridge of Khazad Dum w/ the enormous Balrog? Edoras? The White Walls of Minas Tirith? Orthanc? Mordor? Rivendell?

As you can see there’s a lot of sets that can be made, and we’ve yet to see The Hobbit in 2012. Collectors who love to do Army Building will surely love the LOTR sets since in Middle Earth we have Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Uruk-hai, the Rohirrim, the White Tower Guards, etc. The LOTR trilogy sets will be rolling out beginning on June, and the sets from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey scheduled for release closer to the films debut on December 14, 2012.

Check out the official Lego’s official press release:

“Our collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products has delivered numerous worldwide successes in the construction toy aisle with lines like LEGO HARRY POTTER and LEGO BATMAN, introducing us to loyal audiences who love great stories, strong characters and the toys that they inspire,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group. “It’s particularly exciting to now be able to create sets based on the fantasy worlds and characters from THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and the two films based on THE HOBBIT, not only because we know they will foster collectability and creative play, but also because these are two properties that our fans have been asking us to create for years.”
