Hungry for more BREAKING BAD? Then you Better Call Saul!

Better Call Saul

Despite having been postponed yet again for the next TV season, AMC’s Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul, has not lost the massive steam following the hype train as more information regarding the show surfaces. Bob Odenkirk will reprise his role as Saul Goodman, the sly and otherwise deceptive attorney handling most odd cases in Albuquerque.  Alongside him will be Jonathan Banks portraying Mike Ehrmantraut, Goodman’s Private Investigator, and all-around fixer, also a mainstay of the original series.

On Friday, AMC revealed the story behind the prequel stating the following:

The series is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is “fixer” Mike Ehrmantraut, a beloved character introduced in ‘Breaking Bad.’ The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts “criminal” in “Criminal lawyer.” The series’ tone is dramatic, wove with dark humor.

The series will be set in 2002, long before the duo meets Breaking Bad front runners, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Appearances from Breaking Bad alumni such as Aaron Paul, Bryan Cranston, and Anna Gunn have been rumoured but so far, no confirmation has been announced. Dean Norris, who played DEA Agent Hank Schrader, however, has announced that he will not be appearing on the show due to commitments to the CBS series, Under the Dome.

The show’s release, which was supposed to be this coming November, was pushed back to early 2015. Supposedly allowing more breathing room to further develop and produce the show. The first season will consist of ten, 60-minute episodes, and as a vote of confidence, the show has been renewed for a 13-episode second season prior to being aired.
