Paul W.S. Anderson Reveals RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER!

For over a decade, Screen Gems had released a string of films based on the Resident Evil franchise. It may not be critically acclaimed as other franchises, but it surely gained a solid following. However, the said film series’ figurehead Paul W.S. Anderson revealed in an interview with Collider that the next RE movie will be the last one, and it will wrap up all loose ends starting with the first entry in the franchise.

Tentatively titled The Final Chapter, the movie will focus on the survivors’ last stand against Umbrella Corporation. “It may end up being the final title, but that’s what’s written on the front page of my script. I’m right in the middle of [the first draft].” When asked if the title meant it was the final film in the series, Anderson revealed, “That’s what’s on the title page, it’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so absolutely.”

Nothing has been confirmed yet regarding the production and release dates of the next RE movie.
