The Ubisoft-Nintendo mash-up receives a free update, a new local Versus mode letting two players duke it out against each other on the same screen (sharing a pair of Joy-Con™ controllers or using the Nintendo Switch™ Pro Controllers) in many of the game’s evolving battlefields.

Players can pick three heroes among the eight from the main game and for each character they can pick among three pre-set skills and abilities to elicit a grand sense of strategy. Throughout each match, random bonus items are dropped across the battlefield, grading various advantages to whoever acquires them. Match rules can also be customized, be it adding a timer, limiting the number of turns in a battle, or removing items altogether for pure chaotic fun.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is the story of an unexpected encounter between the most famous video game character, Mario, and the irreverent and chaotic Rabbids as they join forces to restore the Mushroom Kingdom, which has been torn apart by a mysterious vortex. The Versus Mode update for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is out now and is completely free to download on Nintendo Switch.
