Millar and Romita Jr. relaunch KICK-ASS with “The New Girl”!

KickAssNewGirl
the renowned writer behind beloved comic book tales such as Superman: Red Son and Marvel Comic’s Civil War, Mark Millar plans to revive one of his creations Kick-Ass with an African-American to star in its new monthly series.

If we didn’t learn anything from the conclusion of Kick-Ass 3, it is that Millar wanted to have the titular hero to be more of a legacy character ala Spider-Man or The Flash (or in pop culture being The Doctor or James Bond as notable examples) wherein the mantle can be passed around from one to another. According to Hollywood Reporter, this “exciting” idea will have Millar and Romita Jr. a chance explore a new person donning the mask in “every four volumes” and “Sometimes it might even only last a single volume or even a single issue”. Of course the original tandem of Millar and Romita Jr. won’t be in the scribe and drawing for long with their busy looking list of books they are currently working on, as they will only work on the first arc and let Deadpool writer, Daniel Way take the reigns on the second half of the book. It was also announced that Hit-Girl will also be re-launched with art by Rafael Albuquerque.

So what do you think of the new status quo of the “Kick-Ass-verse”? Let us know in the comments below!
