Season 6 of the award-winning series Game of Thrones has long been finished, but for the fans of the hit television show, the said season has been one of the most exciting seasons. One noteworthy episode was Episode 9, also known as the Battle of the Bastards. Of course, for the fans who have already watched the whole series (and are currently waiting for Season 8), they know why it is noteworthy, and why it is called the Battle of the Bastards. For those who have yet to watch the episode, Funko gives us a sneak peek on one of the best battles in Game of Thrones. Of course, for those who have already watched the said episode, the Funko Pop! 2-pack Battle of the Bastards is a great addition to anyone’s collection or Game of Thrones display.

At present, this 2-pack is relatively hard to find because the series is so amazing, and this specific pack is so popular so it is not too often that we see it on store shelves. Lucky for me, I was able to find one locked up in a store’s glass case. I was really glad to know it was for sale, and I did not think twice. Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton jumped into my tote bag in a heartbeat.
Packaging – 8.5/10
Compared to regular Funko Pop! boxes, 2-pack boxes are usually sturdier due to the materials used on the boxes. To give a description, regular Funko Pop! boxes are a little stronger than vellum boards or folders, but 2-pack boxes are as strong as the usual carton boxes, and this is the case for The Battle of the Bastards 2-pack box. The packaging stands out when displayed beside regular Funko Pop! boxes because it provides a 270-degree (approximate) view of the figures.
A downside of the packaging is that because it is sturdy, it is sometimes hard to close — sometimes, the plastic insert gets caught up with the box’s flaps, or for some other reasons. The vector of Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton are also inaccurate representations, if we compare the images to the actual poses of the figures.
Overall, the packaging is amazing. Nothing new as compared to other Game of Thrones Funko Pops!, but hey, consistency is cool. It would look great on top of anyone’s in-box collection, like a cherry on top of a cake. A Game of Thrones cake. Hmmm.
