Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2 Teaser Trailer
Christmas is just around the corner but it is never too late for a good fright.
Featuring another breed of aswang, Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2 is Erik Matti‘s next installment to the successful movie Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles.
Stars from the first movie such as Dingdong Dantes and Ramon Bautista will return for the sequel and will be joined by newcomers Isabelle Daza, KC Montero, and Jeron Teng.
The first movie featured the tiktik, a type of aswang that uses very long proboscis to suck the blood from its victims. This time though the spotlight is focused on the kubot, a bat-like creature that resembles an umbrella with its huge, wide wings. It catches its victim by its claws and takes it home to be butchered.
This trailer was also shown in the recent KOMIKON X. Now from what the trailer shows it seems like the movie is set in the Manila, specifically in Chinatown. Imagine an aswang in the city of Manila. As if we need another reason to be scared of dark alleys.

Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2 is Erik Matti’s official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2014 this coming December 25.
