New DORAEMON 3D Movie in 2014!

Good news for Doraemon fans around the world! A new movie is set to be released on theatres in 2014. What separates this from all other Doraemon movies is that it’s done in 3D for the first time ever! Titled as “Doraemon 3D: Stand By Me” it is set to be released somewhere next year.

To those who are not familiar with the series, Doraemon is a Japanese manga series created by Fujiko Fujio, which later became an anime series and an Asian franchise. It was popularized here in the Philippines by GMA 7 on it’s afternoon cartoon block.

There’s no news yet if this will be released internationally or at least in the Philippines. Given the recent success of all other Japanese cartoon franchises and even live action films, there’s a huge chance that we might get a glimpse of Nobita and Doraemon on the big screen one way or another.

Here’s the first teaser trailer released to the public:

Doraemon 3D: Stand By Me will be directed by Ryuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki who also took the helm of the screenplay. More updates to come as this develops.
