OFFICIAL: CREED Helmer Ryan Coogler To Direct BLACK PANTHER
After months of rumors, Marvel Studios officially confirms today that the man behind Creed and Fruitvale Station, Ryan Coogler is set to direct Black Panther. This will be the superhero’s first solo film since his comic book debut. T’Challa will be played by Chadwick Boseman as he makes his appearance in the highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War.
In an official release, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said:
“We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family…The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct ‘Black Panther.’ Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we’ve found the perfect director to bring T’Challa’s story to life.”
Black Panther is slated for a February 18, 2018 release.
