COUNTDOWN TO RAKRAKAN FESTIVAL 2017: Indie Stage

It’s not all mainstream bands that are going to perform at Rakrakan Festival: OPM Against Drugs. If you’re into indie artists and bands, there’s also a stage perfect for you. Some of these artists have attained mainstream success but stayed close to their indie roots. Here are some of the artists that you could expect at the INDIE stage.

EBE DANCEL

Yes, I know. Ebe Dancel has been a household name since his days with Sugarfree. A local favorite and has produced countless hits like Hari ng Sablay, Tulog Na, Mariposa, Wag Ka Nang Umiyak, Makita Kang Muli, Hanggang Wala Bukas, to name a few. Since Ebe has gone solo he went to become an independent artist and has worked with other local artists such as KZ Tandigan, Abra, Regine Velasquez and Gloc-9. Expect Ebe to play your favorite Sugarfree songs, as well as his own tracks only at Rakrakan Festival’s Indie Stage.

 

QUEST

Born Jose Villanueva III, a Filipino hip-hop and r&b, broke into the local music scene with his track “Back To Love” in 2010. The song won best music video at a local music channel award show. Quest also released the song “Saludo”, which became the theme song for the Gilas Pilipinas basketball campaign in 2013. Let QUEST bring the inspiration and good vibes at Rakrakan Festival’s INDIE stage.

SUD

Possibly the biggest breakthrough artist of 2016, SUD has achieved mainstream success with their LSS-heavy track, “SILA”. As of this writing, SILA has more than 3 million views on YouTube since it’s release. SUD is fronted by Sud Ballecer (Vocals/Guitar) and other band members include Marc Reyes (Bass), Jimbo Cuenco (Drums), Kohl Aguilar (Keyboard), Carlos Dela Fuente (Saxophone).

Rakrakan Festival: OPM Against Drugs is a music festival that caters to all music fans. Other artists that would perfrom at the INDIE Stage are Bullet Dummas, Jensen & The Flips, Miles Experience, Pedicab, Oh Flamingo!, Autotelic, Assemby Generals, BP Valenzuela, Techyromantics, Taken by Cars, Squid 9, Faintlight, Cheats, We Are Imaginary, Brisom, She’s Only Sixteen and Flying Ipis.
