A few moments after the big reveal on Grant Gustin’s FLASH costume, photos from the set of FLASH’s pilot episode have surfaced online. The set of photos does not yet show the FLASH costume in action but Grant Gustin jumping away from a car explosion. Grant Gustin in one of the photos appear with co-star Candice Patton who plays Iris Allen in the tv show.

Grant Gustin appears to be doing his own stunts as he mentioned on his Instagram account “Set today. Utilizing a real scar. #peace #theflash”

flash-set1The Flash is currently in production in Vancouver. The pilot episode is included in a potential slot for CW’s 2014-2015 line up. The shows cast would include Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon and Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells. The original Flash TV star John Wesley Shipp is also reported to guest in the new show. The Flash is directed by  David Nutter and executive producers include Arrow’s Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg. Script is written by DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns along with Berlanti and Kreisberg.

The Flash costume was designed by Colleen Atwood, the same person responsible for the Arrow’s costume as well. Colleen Atwood is a three time Academy Award winner and has received honors for her work on Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha and Chicago.

Executive producer David Nutter said in a press release “I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash’s iconic suit.”

The Flash’s initial headshot photo got mixed reactions from fans but after seeing Grant Gustin in his complete costume and the first photos from the production set, I’d say that the FLASH is on to a good start.
