The 80s Are Making A Comeback At SDCC 2016!

Kids who grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons are in for a treat at this year’s San Diego Comic Con (SDCC)! Franchises like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Captain Power and He-Man were all household names during the 80s and the kids who grew up during that generation are the ones filling up geek and pop-culture conventions these days. Here’s what the 80s and 90s kids could expect at this year’s SDCC:

Cowabunga! NECA is releasing the Classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4-player co-op arcade game box set at SDCC 2016. The figures are based off the TMNT arcade game and features brand new figure sculpts and deluxe packaging. Your favorite heroes in a half-shell, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Raphael are all here! The turtles stands approximately 6″ tall, fully articulated and is built with double knee joints to showcase their ninja skills! The paint job is inspired by the 8-bit graphics of the arcade game. Plus, the box-art recreates recreates the look of the TMNT arcade cabinet!

The TMNT 4-Player box set would retail at $100.00 and pre-orders have already started at the NECA website.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 4-Player Co-Op Box Set will only be limited to 3,000 pieces.

 

 

All New He-Man

Its that time when something old becomes new again. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was everyone’s favorite cartoon growing up. As a kid, you’d make sure that you’ll be able to catch an episode every week or else you’d be left out when you get back to school. Now, you can relive all of the show’s glory as the new He-Man animation will debut at SDCC 2016. The episode will be titled “The Curse of Three Terrors” and is produced by Super7.

 

The new He-Man animation is completely done in its classic 80s style. Watch for yourself in the trailer below.

Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future Reboot

Fans of the classic American/Canadian-produced series will be excited to know that the hit series will be getting a reboot treatment from original series creator, Gary Goddard.

The reboot is being rebranded as “Phoenix Rising” and will be hyped and announced at this weekend’s SDCC. Reminisce Captain Jonathan Power and the Soldiers of the Future and their crusade against the machines in the show’s original intro below.
