Gamers prepare yourselves as Blizzard Entertainment is about to unleash a storm that might change the gaming landscape. Enter Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard’s MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) would start open beta on May 20 and to be followed by its official launch by June 3. Heroes of the Storm is an online team brawler that brings together your favorite characters from Blizzard’s famous games namely Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo, and they battle it out in one adrenaline-charged universe.

Players would be able to customize their heroes to suit their style and then team-up with friends for some all-out mayhem. Heroes of the Storm features a variety of gameplay modes that players can choose from: Cooperative, where players team up against computer-controlled opponents or Quick Match which is an accessible way to jump in and play versus others. Experienced players may join forces to battle it out with other teams in a highly competitive, draft-style ranked play.

Blizzard Entertainment’s CEO Mike Morhaime said: “With its focus on team play and fast-paced fun, Heroes of the Storm is a fresh take on a very popular genre. We’ve built Heroes of the Storm in a way that makes it accessible to new players, but also challenging enough for veterans who really want to put their skills to the test. We can’t wait to see what Heroes brings to the co-op and competitive scenes once the Nexus opens up to everyone.”

On its launch, Heroes of the Storm would feature more than 30 playable Heroes and 7 dynamic Battlegrounds each with unique challenges to overcome. Heroes come in a variety of skins which players can choose from, as well as being able to switch between stable of special mounts that help them cover ground on the game more quickly.

In celebration of the game’s launch, Blizzard will be holding a live-stream event on June 1 in London, U.K. Additional information will be made available as launch day draws closer.

Asiasoft Online, the official publisher for Heroes of the Storm in South East Asia, has also planned many exciting local events and activities for players in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines—further details on the telecast will be announced at a later date.
