Marvel Unveils New Set of Teaser Photos and Footage From DAREDEVIL!

Marvel.com finally released their first slew of teaser photos from the highly anticipated Netflix miniseries, Daredevil.

Both of the photos showcased Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock – in his daytime look as a lawyer, and in his nighttime garb as “Pre-suit Daredevil,” which is clearly inspired by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s take during their Man Without Fear run.

The production team and some of the cast also took it to New York Comic Con to reveal a few more details regarding the show. Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb opened the panel by revealing the next four titles that will be following Daredevil’s trail on Netflix – Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and ultimately The Defenders. Interestingly, he added: “Just to clarify – neither the role of Jessica Jones nor of Luke Cage has been cast. Anything else is just a rumor.”

Showrunner Steven DeKnight also shed some light on where they’re turning to for inspiration, and while Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s Man Without Fear is clearly influencing the series, so too are two fan-favourite runs on the Daredevil comic book.  “My favorite stories were the Miller run and the Bendis run – you’ll really see that in the gritty tone of the show.” Vincent D’Onofrio meanwhile had plenty to say about the direction they’re taking The Kingpin in. “Our Wilson Fisk is a child and he’s a monster. Everything he does comes from his foundation of morality inside himself. Meeting Vanessa, the one thing she does for him so far is brings him out of the shadows.” He praised how personal they make it all and said it’s a blast so far.

They also revealed the latest cast additions for the said vigilante series. Toby Leonard Moore (The Pacific) is Wesley, Wilson Fisk’s right hand man, Bob Gunton (24) is Leland Owlsley (better known to comic book fans as The Owl), Ayelet Zurer (Man of Steel) is Vanessa Fisk and Vondie Curtis-Hall (ER) is Ben Urich.

To cap up the panel session, Marvel showed a lengthy teaser footage highlighting the mood of the series. Unfortunately, it was not yet posted online, but we might see a few surprises in line with today’s reveals in the weeks to come.

Daredevil premieres on Netflix this 2015.
