SDCC ’14: Release Dates For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3,SINISTER SIX, And UNCHARTED Announced!

Columbia/Sony Pictures announced their release dates for upcoming movies such as The Sinister Six  and Uncharted but also updates the current state of The Amazing Spider-Man 3‘s production after writer Roberto Orci left the project to (perhaps) boldly go where no man has gone before or that he’s really not involved as he stated.

TASM3 is unfortunately pushed back again from a 2016 release to a 2018 release trading dates with Sinister Six, which will be released on November 11, 2016. The latter movie will be written and directed by Cabin in the Wood‘s Drew Goddard and produced by Sony-Columbia honcho Avi Arad and Matt Tomalch.  This film will follow Spider-Man’s formidable foes’ forming a sextet to exterminate the wall-crawler, some of which include the ff: The Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Rhino, Kraven The Hunter, Vulture, and Mysterio. No further details were revealed as of writing.

A live-action movie adaptation of the hit video-game franchise Uncharted will finally happen with a summer release date of June 10, 2016. It follows the daring adventures of Indiana Jones-esque treasure hunter, Nathan Drake. This film is directed by Horribles Bosses and Identity Thief’s Seth Gordon, also produced by Avi and Ari Arad and will be written by Safe House’s David Guggenheim.

As you can tell, Sony are very minimal when it comes to details in these announcements, maybe because they’re saving up for their panel in the 24th (expect announcements later on or tomorrow). Their panel will also have announcements for Adam Sandler’s newest film Pixels (to be released in May 15, 2015) and Goosebumps (August 7, 2015). Stay tuned for more SDCC announcements!
