Hideo Kojima Officially Leaves Konami; Starts Partnership with Sony.

Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima has officially departed Konami Digital Entertainment as of Dec. 15 and is immediately at work with his brand new independent game development company aptly named Kojima Productions. This studio is now in collaboration with Sony to bring their first debut title exclusively on PlayStation.

Kojima writes on his twitter:

My employment contract with Konami has been terminated as of Dec 15th, so today marks a new start for me. I’m committed to be involved in creative activities for as long as I live.”

Sony releases a YouTube video announcing their new found partnership:

“the studio will begin focusing its efforts in developing products that will push the boundaries in innovation and ignite consumer interest worldwide.”
