SDCC 14′: THE LAST OF US Soon To Be A Motion Picture!

Way back in March, it was announced that Sony-Columbia Pictures is developing a live-action adaptation of the beloved hit video game of 2013, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. In Screen Gems’ San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Panel, creative director and writer Neil Druckmann and producer Sam Raimi came out and discussed the said project to the fans. They then told everyone that one of their top choices for the role of Ellie is Game of Thrones mainstay Maisie Williams, much to the delight of the crowd.

Like most video game-based adaptations, the film version is said to have “changes” from the source material. Raimi promises that the film will be very faithful to the game and very confident that they’re going to end up with a script that is “true to the strengths of the game”. Originally Druckmann wanted to change the ending but Raimi convinced him otherwise, so bring your tissues.

No further details were revealed yet as of writing for the project.
