SDCC News: AVENGERS 2 is now AVENGERS: Age of Ultron

It’s official, Avengers 2 would be moving forward as “Avengers: Age of Ultron“. Joss Whedon just announced it officially at the annual Marvel Studio panel at the now famous Hall H in San Diego. Vin Diesel’s involvement and rumors regarding him playing as Vision is now becoming more of a reality as this was announced. Fan reception is somewhat mixed due to the fact that the recent comic event bearing the same name did not fare well and that the anticipation of seeing Thanos seems to be put on hold.

To those who are unfamiliar with Ultron, the character appeared first in Avengers #55 in 1968 as a cameo. Ultron was constructed by Dr. Hank Pym (also known as Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Yellowjacket, and Goliath) as the famed scientist/adventurer was experimenting in high-intelligence robotics. Ultron is a self sustaining robot who rebelled against Pym and brainwashed him into forgetting that he ever existed. Being a sentient robot that he is, he made numerous improvements to his previous designs and upgraded himself multiple times in order to battle against Dr. Pym and the Avengers.

There’s no word yet whether Dr.Hank Pym/Ant-Man would appear in this movie since his own spin-off is scheduled to be released after this 2015 blockbuster. Expect the internet to explode in the following weeks with a lot of news and rumors as more information is revelead on this announcement.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released on May 01, 2015. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and brought to us by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Hi I'm Mac. The day my father Odin banished me from Asgard, I was bitten by a vampire and had radioactive waste dumped into my eyes. To make matters worse, my mutant ability to control weather activated just as I was hit by a blast of gamma radiation.
